Non-Destructive Testing
We have an aerospace-standard, accredited Fluorescent Flaw Detection facility capable of inspecting Aluminium and Steel components.
The process involves the application of a special fluorescent dye solution designed to permeate any defects in the surface of the base material. Once the excess solution is washed off, a developer powder is applied which allows, when inspected under ultra-violet light, any flaws (cracks, pitting, stress, corrosion) to be identified. The absence of any indications confirms the component is suitable for use and further treatment/manufacture.
